🛑 Attention Amazon Sellers
Tariff Pause = Brief Breather, Not a Lifeline (Amazon sellers, take note)
So, in May 2025, Trump and Xi basically called a timeout in their tariff tennis match. The U.S. dropped its extra China tariffs from a WTF-level 145% to a more tolerable 30%. China responded by trimming theirs on U.S. goods from 125% to 10%. Markets reacted like it was Black Friday already — the S&P 500 shot up 3.3%.
But let’s be real: this is a 90-day pause. Not a peace treaty. Not even a ceasefire. It’s like when your kid stops screaming for 5 minutes — you enjoy the silence, but you know it’s not over.
What does this mean for Amazon sellers?
👉 If you import from China: congrats, your landed costs just went from “ouch” to “slightly less ouch.”
👉 Q4 prep just got less painful: cheaper restocks ahead of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the Christmas madness.
👉 Use this window wisely: renegotiate with suppliers, increase PO volumes, or maybe even test other sourcing hubs (hello Vietnam, hello Mexico).
But don’t pop the champagne yet. Those tariffs could come roaring back in 3 months. If you’re not diversifying suppliers or pricing with buffer, you’re playing with fire. This is Amazon — margins are thinner than a tortilla chip. One tariff hike and boom, you’re selling at a loss.
Bottom line? Great short-term news. Long-term? Same jungle, same snakes. Plan accordingly.
📰 What you need to know
👉 Amazon.Science just opened Spring 2025 funding for ad fraud research. Translation? AI is boosting click fraud, budgets are getting wasted and Amazon is feeling the heat.
If ad abuse keeps growing, it threatens one of Amazon's biggest cash cows (Advertising, alongside AWS). Expect new rules, new detection models, and tougher standards for agencies and sellers.

💡 Pro Tip: custom inventory alerts based on real sales velocity
Did you know Amazon now lets you set dynamic low-stock alerts based on sales velocity? Here’s how:
Go to Manage Inventory
Click the ⋯ menu next to your SKU
Select “Set replenishment alerts”
Choose Units Remaining or Weeks of Cover (recommended)
Using Weeks of Cover adjusts the alert to your sales speed: perfect if your lead time is fixed!
📩 You’ll get auto-email reminders before stockouts happen. No more guessing or manual tracking.
