🛑 Attention Amazon Sellers
Last week, we commented on how Amazon is redesigning its Alexa+ with improved transactional features. This will force sellers to optimize product listings for the future Alexa + Rufus integration.
Also, fresh news: "Amazon's Echo is ending its 'Do Not Send Voice Recordings' feature, starting March 28" so AMZ is going all-in on using your conversations to train its AI models and increase your Alexa personalization.
Bottomline: even if it is not widely used by Amazon customers (it’s not), you definitely have to optimize for Rufus.
📰 What you need to know
👉 I've been reviewing Amazon software for years, and compiled them in this Spreadsheet. +200 tools & filters: Seller/Vendor, Countries where they work, Pricing and Free Trial. Get it free here.
To my surprise, I had 300 tools listed, and when I checked their websites one by one to update information, I found more than 70 software that no longer exist.
👉 Big changes coming in the next weeks: AWD fees going up, FBA reimbursements based on sourcing cost and agencies + service providers must sign up for SPP. Details here.
👉 And 3 more big updates for Amazon Advertising: boost bids for three high-intent audience segments and more, Kevin King reports.
👉 New Amazon Stores Landing Page, Destaney Wishon reports.
👉 So long, Click Profit: The FTC sued an Amazon automation company for allegedly defrauding customers of tens of millions of dollars in connection with a “passive income” scheme. If you sell on Amazon and get your hands dirty, you know better than anyone there's no such thing as Amazon automation or 100% passive income.
💡 Pro Tip: CTR Main Image Hack, by Steven Pope of My Amazon Guy
Steven Pope, founder of MyAmazonGuy, has developed a CTR Main Image Hack that significantly boosts click-through rates on Amazon, leading to increased sales. This hack involves optimizing the main product image by adding a keyword label or tag that is not part of the product itself. By placing the main keyword prominently in the image, sellers can enhance visibility and make the product more appealing to potential buyers.
This strategy is likened to a "Trojan horse" for listings, as it makes the product stand out without violating Amazon's policies, although Amazon may remove images with non-product text. Despite this, the hack has been shown to dramatically increase CTR, sometimes doubling or tripling it, which directly translates to higher sales.
To implement this hack effectively, sellers should focus on A/B testing to find the most impactful image variations. This involves creating multiple versions of the main image with different keyword labels and comparing their performance.
Additionally, showcasing the product in use and highlighting its unique selling points can further enhance the image's appeal. While Amazon may have strict policies regarding text on images, creatively incorporating keywords or product information can still improve CTR without violating these rules.
By investing time in optimizing the main image, sellers can see significant improvements in their Amazon sales, making this hack a valuable strategy for success on the platform.
