Marketplace⚡Mastery #161: ChatGPT’s new Buy Box + Amazon builds your multipacks
Hey sellers! ChatGPT just picked a Buy Box winner (and it’s not the cheapest), Amazon is creating multipacks for you, and the Q4 fee stack is officially live.

What you need to know
ChatGPT’s new shopping layout, part of the Intelligent UI rollout from two weeks ago, highlights a single retailer and its price for each product, with a “Shop at xyz” button that takes shoppers there in one click.
It only shows retailers that send product feeds, and it defaults to them even when others sell for less.
Juozas Kaziukėnas tested it and it pushed the Breville Luxe Brewer Thermal at $349.95 from Williams Sonoma. The retailer list showed $319.95, but for the wrong variant. For the Moccamaster, the default button linked to Moccamaster’s own site, while Bloomingdale’s and Amazon had it $10 cheaper.
In AI shopping (at least for now), price doesn’t win the click. The feed does. In the US, ChatGPT barely shows products that aren’t synced from feeds, so getting your product feed into ChatGPT is still step 1 for every brand. If you’re not in the feed, you’re not in the answer.

🗞 News
👉 Peak FBA fees (about $0.32 per unit extra) started October 15 and run through January 14, and holiday promotion fees are $100 per deal plus 1.5% of promo sales, capped at $5,000. Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal submissions closed yesterday, and your FBA inbound deadlines are October 21 for minimal splits and October 28 for Amazon-optimized splits.
👉 With peak fees up, stop letting weak campaigns eat your best performers’ budget. Group all the campaigns for one ASIN into a single portfolio. Identify which ones deliver the best ROAS, usually your exact match BOFU campaigns.
Then adjust daily budgets inside the portfolio and raise bids or budget only on proven performers. Same overall spend, better results, which is exactly what Q4 margins need.

👉 Amazon is building multipacks for you creating virtual multipack listings for selected brand-owned FBA products, scheduled by October 28, with customers buying from November 11. Units come from your existing inventory, but pricing, pack structure, imagery and positioning still need human review. Check yours before they go live!
👉 Google’s Universal Cart is rolling out through Search and Gemini, letting shoppers collect products from different merchants, track price drops and move toward checkout.
Same lesson as ChatGPT: accurate feeds, ladies & gentlemen.
👉 FBA launched in 2006 and it turns 20 this year! They started with seven fulfillment centers and has since moved more than 80 billion units.
Amazon says moving from a four-day to a two-day delivery promise lifts purchase conversion by more than 20%.
👉 Flapen Research is a free hub that scores every Amazon niche from 0 to 100, with one number telling you whether it’s worth your money. It covers the US, UK, Germany, Japan, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Singapore (more markets being added as we speak) and they promis a weekly shortlist of niches that made the cut from 50K+ scanned.
I’ve tried to gather where the data’s coming from (Product Opportunity Explorer has no API so far) so I guess it’s being pulled from APIs and MCPs such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout Cobalt and others.
