🗞 News

👉 Prime Big Deal Days drove $9.86B in U.S. online sales

According to Adobe, U.S. shoppers spent $9.86 billion online during Amazon’s October 6-7 event, up 8.5% year over year. That’s faster growth than 2025, when sales rose 7.3% to $9.09 billion.

Discounts peaked at 20% off list price, with the deepest cuts in computers, TVs, electronics, toys and apparel.

Compared with average September sales, toys jumped 158%, video games 90%, electronics 85% and personal care 73%. So, folks, Q4 doesn’t start in November anymore.

Adobe says this October spike is pushing retailers into earlier pre-holiday promotions, so your inventory and deal calendar need to be ready weeks earlier than they used to. It seems Amazon is forcing us to endure a grueling marathon from the back-to-school season all the way to New Year's.

More than half the money moved on a phone, so check how your hero image, title and price read on a small screen. And watch replenishables: shoppers used deals to stock up, which means some of your Q4 demand may already be sitting in their pantries.

👉 Marketplace Pulse’s new TikTok Shop Trends Report 2026 tracked 150,000+ U.S. sellers and 4.5M products. Over two-thirds of top-seller revenue comes from products worn, applied or ingested, beauty alone is close to 30%, and the median top product sells for around $40.

👉 U.S. advertisers can buy Spotify audio, video and display ads through Walmart DSP, target them with Walmart purchase data, and match ad exposure to Walmart sales.

Walmart is also bringing its audiences to selected live TV channels from Warner Bros. Discovery, while a Yahoo integration moves into alpha testing. Amazon did the Spotify move first, in October 2025.

👉 Private label owns 43.7% of European FMCG units. NielsenIQ data shared by Daniel Ducrocq covers 31 markets, year to date through P6 2026, with 19 of 29 comparable markets gaining share. Spain leads at 58.9%, followed by Portugal (58.7%) and Belgium (57.5%), and Germany added 0.9 points from a 52% base. If you sell CPG in Europe, the retailer’s own brand is your main competitor. 🇪🇺

👉 Amazon cuts jobs in its Stores unit, mid-Big Deal Days. Amazon let go fewer than 1,000 white-collar workers, mainly in the unit that runs its ecommerce site, with employees in the U.S., India and the UK affected. Internal Slack posts suggest customer service and selling partner services were among the teams hit. Don’t expect Seller Support to get faster before Q4.

👉 Amazon re-ranks keyword results every 60 minutes, and a deal-day spike won’t save a weak listing. The re-ranking looks at sales velocity against competitors, conversion rate, returns and CTR. If shoppers click but don’t buy, that’s a bad sign, and if competitors convert better, they rank higher. Before the Q4 rush, compare your post-deal CTR and CVR by keyword and A/B test your hero image and title where they’re slipping. Extracted from my ebook Amazon SEO.
