Marketplace⚡Mastery #135: Review purge kills your ROAS, Rufus goes CPC, April 23 discount deadline
Hey sellers! Amazon's AI just killed the review halo, Rufus ads are live on CPC, and you have until April 23 to fix your pricing strategy.
🛑 ProfitGo: Amazon arbitrage, wholesale and cross-border sourcing in the UK and EU
ProfitGo is a product analysis and deal-evaluation tool built for Amazon arbitrage, wholesale and cross-border sourcing in the UK and Europe. It combines profitability calculations, sales estimates, buy box analysis, offer tracking, reverse lookup, VAT handling, WEEE checks, inventory tracking and product-history logging into one system.
It is available as a browser extension, a web app and a mobile app, which makes it useful both for online sourcing and retail arbitrage on the go. The main promise of ProfitGo is simple: instead of checking Keepa, calculator sheets, VAT assumptions, competitors and marketplace prices separately, you can see them all in one workspace.

📰 What you need to know
👉 Amazon is now using AI to decouple aggregated ratings, assigning star scores based on each individual SKU's actual performance rather than letting a product inherit them from a high-velocity parent listing.
If your bestseller was coasting on a 4.7 inherited from merged variations, that moat is gone. The direct fallout: CVR crashes, weaker keyword indexing, and PPC conversion rates dropping from 15-20% down to 8-10%.
👉 Rufus ads go CPC: leaked pitch deck reveals how sponsored placements work inside AI conversations. Advertisers will now be charged on a cost-per-click basis.
Amazon confirmed the deck's authenticity. Rufus is positioned as a "virtual product expert" serving sponsored recommendations directly inside shopper conversations.
👉 Amazon cracks down on fake discounts - deadline is April 23 Amazon is requiring sellers to back up advertised discounts with documented sales history or verifiable third-party pricing data for List Price and Typical Price labels.
Non-compliant listings will have strike-through pricing removed by April 23. If your conversion strategy relies on inflated price anchors, fix it now.
👉 Alexa+ now handles conversational food ordering via Grubhub and Uber Eats, letting users browse menus, customize orders, and make real-time changes without rigid prompts.
Prime members get Grubhub+ benefits including free delivery. Another move toward making Alexa the default purchase layer inside the home.

💡 Use DSP to protect your audience from big brands
Large competitors steal potential customers simply because you're not retargeting them. The fix: hit them with DSP right after they visit your PDP. Build an audience of "visited product detail page but did not purchase" and serve them an ad immediately. Use listings with trust badges (Amazon's Choice, #1 Best Seller in subcategory) as your creative to reinforce social proof at the highest moment of purchase intent.
Expected result: active defense against brands with bigger budgets and better post-exposure conversion.
