Marketplace⚡Mastery #128: Rufus hits $12B + Amazon GMV tops $830B, what now?
Hey sellers! Rufus is front and center, Amazon GMV just hit $830B, and 2026 capex is about to get wild.
🛑 Attention Amazon Sellers
I’ve got something extremely important to share… But it’s not for hobby sellers.
This is for business owners who want to build insanely profitable companies that truly can scale. There’s a private Amazon seller session coming up that I HIGHLY recommend, hosted by Nick Huber, who’s a 9-figure entrepreneur (yes, that’s hundreds of millions in revenue).
Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll learn:
How to unlock insane levels of profitability by pulling levers most sellers ignore
How to hire elite global talent while saving 80% on payroll
How to align incentives so your staff wants to perform at the highest level
Why specialized teams crush teams of generalists
A live bonus that will blow your mind (you’re going to want to see this)
📰 What you need to know
👉 Amazon increased the Rufus agentic shopping assistant attributed sales figure to $12 billion for 2025 (up from the post-Q3 pace of $10 billion annualized).
Yes, there are a lot of asterisks on that number. But here’s the only takeaway that matters: Amazon is usually timid rolling out new features, and they are not with Rufus.
👉 Amazon GMV surpassed $800 billion in 2025. Amazon and its sellers reportedly sold $830 billion worth of goods in 2025, with estimates pointing to $255B in 1P and $575B in 3P sales, both growing around 9%. Insane. Where’s the limit for this guys? I honestly can’t tell anymore.

While last week we commented on Walmart crossing the $1 trillion market cap threshold, Amazon is actually on track to pass them in annual revenue. Walmart is expected to land around $712B when it reports. It’s not apples-to-apples (AWS and ads matter), but it’s still a headline moment in the Amazon vs. Walmart rivalry.
👉 On the other hand, after Amazon’s Q42025 report, shares dropped as it projected $200B in 2026 spending. The stated focus: AI demand, chips, robotics, and low-orbit satellites. Seems AI is not that sexy anymore.
👉 A big one coming from friends at Helium 10! 35% OFF Platinum – 6 Months $83.85/month (reg. $129)
👉 Alexa+ is now broadly available in the U.S. (for $19.99) and free for Prime members. Amazon is positioning it as more capable and more agentic for real tasks, not just Q&A. So you better start optimizing your listings for conversational AI and Rufus. Don’t be last in line!

👉 Amazon may launch a content marketplace for AI licensing, as the industry keeps getting squeezed by copyright concerns and licensing complexity. Amazon did not confirm specifics, but acknowledged ongoing partnerships across AWS, retail, advertising, AGI and Alexa. Another way to boost profit share, indeed.

💡 Weekly tips
PPC tip: stop cannibalizing yourself with exact cross-negatives
If your broad and phrase campaigns keep stealing traffic from your best exact keywords, force the routing.
Create an exact-only campaign for your top terms, then add those exact terms as negative exact in your broad/phrase campaigns. Result: cleaner data, tighter control, less duplicated spend, and better ACoS discipline.

SEO tip: write like Rufus is going to quote you
Rufus rewards clear, structured, natural language that answers real questions: who it’s for, what problem it solves, how to use it, and why it’s better.
Also: add descriptive text to secondary images (OCR reads it) and make your bullets “benefit + feature” instead of generic fluff.
