Marketplace⚡Mastery #126: Amazon Shop Direct hijacks branded searches + ChatGPT cart + TikTok logistics ultimatum

Hey sellers! Shop Direct just jumped into branded search, ChatGPT is testing a real cart, and TikTok Shop is tightening the logistics screws.

🛑 Attention Amazon Sellers

Guys, trust me, after 13 years reviewing Amazon software I found something different: Jarvio.

Connects your Seller Central / Vendor Central, team, and apps (Slack, ClickUp, Google Sheets, Notion, Jungle Scout, Shopify, Zapier, and more) so you can run prebuilt or custom workflows that monitor your account, fix issues, and automate repetitive tasks.

It’s like having a minion armada for listings and ads!!!

📰 What you need to know

👉 As for this last week, when someone searches for your brand name, they can now see a “Shop Direct” link at the top of the results that bypasses your listings and sends shoppers straight to your DTC site.

If your website is solid, this is a profit and AOV win (bundles, full catalog, you control the journey). If your site is weak or half-built, you’re about to watch your easiest conversions leak out through a dead-end funnel.

One more change coming to the overcrowded Amazon SERPs.
To dominate SEO & SERPs, here’s my Amazon SEO playbook

👉 Rufus the Blueprint: part two. Andrew Bell breaks down how the Rufus patent tackles the classic AI shopping agent problems: hallucinations, weak evidence, slow responses and outdated info.

The key idea: let the language model handle conversation, but pull real-time product facts (titles, images, reviews, availability) from live databases, with a query planner coordinating retrieval and streaming results progressively.

👉 TikTok Shop ends seller shipping on Feb 25, 2026 and forces merchants to use Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT), Upgraded TikTok Shipping, or Collections by TikTok (CBT), or a restricted list of approved providers. This mirrors Amazon’s “controlled logistics ecosystem” model and could seriously disrupt sellers and independent 3PLs built around merchant-controlled fulfillment.

👉 ChatGPT is testing a persistent shopping cart (and a 4% transaction fee). Seems that some users are seeing a beta cart inside ChatGPT: add multiple items while chatting, build carts across retailers, and even split carts by intent (gifts, groceries, etc.). Shopify merchants would pay OpenAI a 4% transaction fee on sales through ChatGPT checkout starting Jan 26, plus Shopify’s standard payment processing fee.

👉 Amazon is closing Go and Fresh stores , converting some locations to Whole Foods Market as it expands same-day grocery delivery coverage. Amazon said it hadn’t “yet created a truly distinctive customer experience with the right economic model” for large-scale expansion, while keeping the Amazon Fresh brand for online grocery sales and delivery.

👉 New 2026 Amazon FBA pricing dead zones (fee cliffs that kill profit)
Pricing “dead zones” are ranges where raising price makes you less money due to FBA fee tier jumps and referral fee cliffs. The post lists dead zones by category and size tier (including “All other FBA products”), and calls out weight-based differences for Small Standard.
