📰 What you need to know
👉 Amazon launches “Seller Assistant” its own ChatGPT for Sellers
Amazon just rolled out Seller Assistant, an AI-powered tool designed to help sellers with nearly every aspect of their business. From account setup and listing optimization to FBA inventory tracking, sales analysis, ad strategy, customer service, compliance, and troubleshooting.
It also offers guidance on policy, IP issues and analytics, making it a one-stop resource for both new and seasoned sellers.
👉 Tariff suspension on China extended
President Donald J. Trump announced via Truth Social that he signed an Executive Order extending the suspension of tariffs on China for another 90 days. All other terms of the agreement remain unchanged.
This extension keeps current trade conditions in place, giving US importers and sellers a short-term reprieve from additional costs though uncertainty remains on what will happen after this period ends.
👉 The slow death of price matching at Big-Box retailers
Big-box chains like Target and Walmart have been scaling back price matching for years, and the practice may be on its way out entirely. Target recently ended matching competitors’ prices in-store, now only matching Target.com prices.
Walmart stopped register-based price matching in 2017 and later discontinued its Savings Catcher program, citing already competitive pricing.
Analysts say dynamic pricing, multiple sales channels, and marketplace competition make price matching less relevant and often a margin killer. While specialty retailers like Best Buy, Lowe’s, and Home Depot still offer it for big-ticket items, Amazon and major mass retailers have largely abandoned it.
